Job Description
The Niles Park District IceLand is seeking a dedicated and experienced Figure Skating Instructor/Coach to join our team. This parttime position offers the opportunity to work with skaters of all ages and skill levels from beginners to competitive athletes. Instructors will lead LearntoSkate classes provide private and group lessons and assist with special events camps and ice shows.
- Teach group and private figure skating lessons in accordance with ISI or LTS USA programs.
- Develop and implement training plans to help skaters improve technique and performance.
- Assist in organizing and choreographing ice shows competitions and special events.
- Provide a positive safe and encouraging environment for all students.
- Communicate effectively with skaters parents and staff.
- Maintain professional certifications and complete required safety training.
Job Type: Parttime no benefits
Hourly Pay: $15 per hour (based on experience)
Opportunity to build a private lesson clientele over time
Requirements
- CPR and First Aid Certified or ability to complete within 3 months of employment.
- Complete continuing education and staff training annually.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings & weekends) for Learn to Skate ClassesSpecial Events and Camps.
- Ability to develop recreational and competitive level skaters.
- Complete Safesport training or provide certificate of completion.
- Complete CDC Online Concussion Training within 3 months of employment.
- Team oriented.
- Enjoy working with children and families.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Reliable.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- Preferred 3 plus years experience teaching Learn to Skate classes and competition level skaters
- in the ISI or LTS USA Programs.
- Experience coaching all levels of skating preferred.
- High School graduate.
- Bachelors degree in related field and/or certifications in related field preferred.
- Hold or obtain at least two professional memberships within 3 months of employment.
- Hold valid coaching liability insurance.
