Job Description
Position
- We are seeking a Controller to lead and oversee financial operations reporting and strategic planning. This role is critical in ensuring financial accuracy operational efficiency and sustainable growth. The Controller will collaborate closely with Teamshares (parent company) the onsite bookkeeper store leadership and external partners to maintain strong financial controls and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management & Reporting:
- Lead general ledger financial reporting budgeting and forecasting functions.
- Maintain accurate and timely financial statements including P&L balance sheet and cash flow reports at both store and consolidated levels.
- Prepare financial analyses to assess store performance profitability product movement and trends.
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic financial planning including budgeting forecasting and operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP internal controls and financial best practices.
- Assist with yearend audit requests from KPMG (Teamshareslevel).
- Accounting Operations:
- Oversee A/R A/P billing inventory accounting fixed assets and revenue recognition.
- Manage monthend and yearend closing processes including journal entries and accruals.
- Document and enhance financial policies processes and controls to improve efficiency.
- Risk Management & Compliance:
- Develop and implement internal control policies.
- Ensure compliance with sales tax payroll and HRrelated financial requirements.AN3
- Identify financial risks and opportunities to support business growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- CPA preferred but not required.
- 5 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience in inventory accounting is a must.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with ERP payroll and POS systems.
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and US GAAP.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Highly organized analytical and detailoriented with a problemsolving mindset.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
- Enthusiastic adaptable and eager to take initiative and drive process improvements.
