Position Specifics:

Department: Business Office

Reports to: General Manager / Dealer Principal

Supervises: Business Office

Purpose:

Responsible for overseeing all financial processes managing the Business Office and ensuring smooth daily operations. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles financial reporting and administrative operations.

Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee all financial operations including accounts payable accounts receivable payroll support and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP tax regulations and John Deere financial reporting requirements.
  • Monitor cash flow and provide forecasting to support dealership growth and stability.
  • Develop and manage the dealerships annual budget in collaboration with department managers.
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals for audits and filings.

Insurance & Risk Management

  • Manage all dealership insurance policies including general liability property workers compensation support and fleet insurance.
  • Oversee claims management working with insurance providers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of policies to ensure adequate coverage and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting related to insurance claims and risk management strategies.

Leadership & Team Support

  • Supervise and support Business Office staff ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to best practices.
  • Provide financial training and guidance to department managers to enhance financial literacy.
  • Foster a culture of accountability integrity and continuous improvement across finance and risk management.

Administrative

  • Manage daytoday administrative tasks such as paperwork processing invoices and maintaining databases.
  • Support the business office operations including supply management employee recruitment and training.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5 years of experience in accounting finance and risk management is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP tax regulations and financial management principles.
  • Experience with dealership management software (e.g. PFW CDK) and Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Understanding of insurance policies risk management strategies and claims processing.
  • Excellent analytical problemsolving and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in training.
