Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:Provides direct and indirect patient care in the specialty clinic setting. Provides care that meets the psychosocial physical and general aspects of care; meets the communications needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations under the supervision of a registered nurse and/or physician. Communicates with providers and team members about patient clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. This role is open for PRN applicants.
EDUCATION:
  • Associate Degree Accredited school of Nursing (required)
  • Bachelors Degree Nursing (preferred)
EXPERIENCE:
12 years experience in Clinic Nursing (preferred)
CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:
State of Nebraska RN or LPN License or MultiState RN or LPN License (required)
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
1. Adheres to Brodstone Healthcares Mission Vision and Values.
2. Adheres to Brodstone Healthcares Standards of Behavior.
3. Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a provider evaluates outcomes consults with other team members as required and adjusts care as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
4. Demonstrates knowledge of medications and administers medications according to policy/procedure and documents time type amount etc. on patients chart.
5. Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge.
6. Performs and documents treatments and procedures as ordered by the provider and/or as instructed and supervised by the RN and in accordance with current policy/procedure.
7. Assists providers with exams treatments and dressing changes when applicable.
8. Informs immediate supervisor of needed supplies and equipment or malfunction of equipment.
9. Demonstrates knowledge and responsibility in care and use of equipment and supplies.
10. Establishes and maintains communication and utilizes teaching opportunities with patients and other significant individuals.
11. Recognizes life threatening situations and responds to emergency situations appropriately.
12. Participates in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment.
13. Follows Standard Precautions as prescribed in organization policies/procedures.
14. Observes evaluates and documents care given as well as the patients physical and emotional condition response to or treatments including side effects desired response and contraindications according to organization policy/procedures.
15. Attends and participates in departmental meetings / inservices quality improvement program etc.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
