Job Description
Position Overview:
The Public Schools of Brookline is seeking music teachers for after school private instrumentlessonsfor our Music Extension program. We are looking for specialists of any of the following instruments:
- clarinet
- flute
- saxophone
- trumpet
- trombone
- percussion
- violin
- viola
- cello
- uprght bass
In your cover letter please includeallinstruments you can teach and to what level. Students are generally in grades 5 through 8 with some older or younger and at beginning to intermediate level thoughwe do have some more advanced students.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Teaching instrument technique and skills to support students in learning an instrument and to support their work in their schoolday Band or Orchestra classes.
- Interacting with and understanding students in ways that create a climate of respect support and high expectations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College and/or Advanced Degree in content area.
