Job Description

Job Opportunities with 21C Witchcraft Heights Elementary School INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY

WHES is seeking teachers and paraprofessionals to work in the newly funded 21C afterschool program. The program starts on October 15th and will run through May 30th. 21C will serve students in grades 3rd 4th and 5th. The program will run three 10 week sessions. Staff can apply to work all three sessions or just one or two sessions.

Program Session Schedule:

  • Fall Session: October 15 Dec 19
  • Winter Session: Jan 6 Mar 28
  • Spring Session: March 31 May 30

Daily 21C Program Schedule

Monday & Tuesday

  • 2:30 3:15 Program Checkin Choice Blocks Circle & Snack
  • 3:154:20 PBL Block (Monday & Tuesday)
  • 3:154:20 Enrichment Block (Thursday)
  • 4:304:45 Program Dismissal Routines

Friday

  • 2:303:00 Program Checkin Choice Blocks Circle & Snack
  • 3:004:00 Enrichments
  • 4:004:15 Program Dismissal Routines

Site Coordinator Role: is the point person in charge of the 21C program and responsible for the wellbeing of students behavioral challenges and daytoday program operations.

Site Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Tracking daily student attendance and ensuring that the program complies with the 21CCLC guidelines and data collection needed
  • Support with other DESE required documentation and data collection
  • Attend DESE 21st CCLC training opportunities or meetings
  • Cultivate a welcoming program environment and program culture which includes setting up an inclusive program space daily and breaking down program space
  • Support program teachers in implementing PBL and enrichment offerings ensuring SEI strategies and schoolday classroom expectations are ensured
  • Facilitating and developing program checkin daily circle and closing routines
  • Supporting student transitions into the program during the program and during dismissal including tracking and communicating transportation changes.
  • Facilitate the program snack which includes tracking and delivering program snacks.
  • Support in planning endofsession program showcases.
  • Acting as the point of contact during the program for the community partners parents and staff
  • Additional program logistics and other daily needs

21C Family Engagement Facilitator:

Support program family communication on a daily basis. The 21C FEF will be responsible for sending out weekly program newsletters to families. Support site coordinator in communicating with families in regard to transportation and program updates. Coplan endofsession program showcase with the support of the site coordinator. Support program checkin routines and dismissal routines. Communication with families staff any changes in student schedules.

Teachers needed for PBL Blocks & Enrichment Blocks.

Hours for these positions are 2:454:30. SPS teachers will be paid SPS contracted hourly rate.

2:453:15 Planning time 3:154:20 Program time

  • PBL Monday and Tuesday
  • Enrichments on Thursday and/or Friday.

Additional Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan for meaningful differentiated learning experiences with support from district staff coaches & site coordinators
  • Plan and implement handson Project Based Learning curriculum with guidance from the PBL curriculum team community partners district staff & site coordinators.
  • Ensure all outcome goals are on track to be met including academic and socialemotional skill development outcomes.
  • Engage and build relationships with students during active handson learning workshops

Paraprofessionals are needed to support 21C as group leaders. Group Leaders are essential in supporting students and assisting site coordinators in the daytoday operations of the program. Group Leaders will be assigned to a group of 1216 students. Within their assigned group you will lead activities to build students socialemotional skills reinforce behavior expectations and routines and provide academic support. Group leaders will build strong positive youthadult relationships. Group leaders generally work two to four days after school Monday Tuesday Thursday 2:304:45 and Friday from 2:304:00 PM and are paid current hourly district rates.
