Primary Purpose of Position:To work cooperatively with and under the director of the Cluster Chairperson/Director in the development of and implementation of individualized instruction.Major Responsibilities:1.Participate in the development of individualized curriculum2.Implement individualization techniques3.Develop and implement individualized testing and student assessment4.Maintain a classroom/shop which is conductive to learning5.Manage an effective learning environment6.Maintain an accurate and uptodate instructional binder including all policies procedures and other related information7.Maintain and update Scope and Sequence as instructional materials are added or deleted in alignment with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks8.Maintain and update Competency Lists (as well as Task Lists for VocationalTechnical Programs) as technological changes occur in alignment with state standards9.Maintain daily and/or weekly grades on all students10.Maintain daily attendance for each class assigned11.Assist in monitoring students between classes12.Maintain equipment tools furniture etc. in all instructional areas and report any losses or damage immediately13.Remain current with changes in industry technology and education14.Attend conferences seminars workshops related to field(s) of instruction15.Write new curriculum or modify existing curriculum as program changes in alignment with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks16.Maintain uptodate competency reporting system17.Ensure all grade sheets verification sheets etc. are completed as directed and turned in on time18.Maintain uptodate Curriculum Binder(s) containing all instructional materials ie. Worksheets charts graphs quizzes tests LAPs CAPs Learning Guides pertaining to all courses to which he/she is assigned to teach19.Maintain a secure learning environment guaranteeing that teaching areas are locked when the area is not being used20.Utilize I.M.C. and S.M. C. for research and related projects21.Supervise students and assume total responsibility for all students during time assigned. Never leave a class uncovered.22.Arrive at class/shop before regularly scheduled time to guarantee classes begin on time23.Arrive at duty on time to guarantee supervision is provided24.Make effective use of preparation time25.Assign Homework in accordance with Cluster/Department policy and the Teacher Handbook26.Follow individual Cluster Policy and Procedures27.Maintain desk in Resource Area and/or classroom in neat and orderly fashion28.Follow all directives and guidelines in the Teacher Handbook29.Complete professional improvement as outlined in the Teachers Contract30.Assist in the development of departmental budget and in the preparation of purchase orders quotes and bids31.Perform additional assigned tasks as directed by immediate supervisor Assistant Superintendent/Principal or SuperintendentDirectorOrganization Relationships:1.Is responsible directly to Cluster Chairperson/Director2.Must work cooperatively with all teachers (especially those within his/her cluster) Guidance Counselors Testing Director Administrators Professional and Support Staff3.Supervises the work of students and aides where applicableQualifications (Preparations Experience Competencies Personal Attributes):1.Possession of MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Educators license in Culinary from the MA Dept. of Elementary & Secondary Education or must possess the minimum qualifications to obtain said licensure.2.Ability to develop new instructional materials3.Ability to revise and modify existing curriculum materials4.Excellent management and organizational skills5.Excellent communication skills6.Excellent interpersonal relations skills7.Some experience operating Computer Hardware and knowledge of software
