Job Title: Playground & Landscape Designer
Location: Kitchener Ontario Canada
Salary: $60k $80k per year (Based on Experience)
About the Role:
Our client is seeking a creative and detailoriented Playground & Landscape Designer to join their team in Kitchener Ontario. In this role you will be responsible for designing innovative engaging and safe outdoor play spaces that promote child development accessibility and community engagement. You will work closely with clients architects and construction teams to bring unique playground and landscape visions to life.

Our client is seeking a creative and detailoriented Playground & Landscape Designer to join their team in Kitchener Ontario. In this role you will be responsible for designing innovative engaging and safe outdoor play spaces that promote child development accessibility and community engagement. You will work closely with clients architects and construction teams to bring unique playground and landscape visions to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Planning: Develop playground and landscape designs that integrate aesthetics functionality safety and child development principles.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with clients municipalities contractors and internal teams to ensure seamless project .
- Technical Drawings & Renderings: Create detailed plans 2D/3D renderings and construction documents using software such as Rhino AutoCAD Revit SketchUp or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Site Assessments: Conduct site visits to analyze terrain space constraints and environmental factors affecting design feasibility.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure designs meet CSA playground safety standards accessibility guidelines (AODA) and local municipal regulations.
- Degree/Diploma in Landscape Architecture Environmental Design or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in landscape design or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Rhino AutoCAD SketchUp Adobe Creative Suite and/or Revit.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and how they influence play space design considered an asset.
- Knowledge of CSA playground safety standards AODA accessibility requirements and municipal zoning regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and presenting design concepts.
- Passion for creating inclusive engaging and sustainable outdoor spaces.
