Collects processes and stores biological specimens for laboratory testing and research purposes. Does not perform hypothesisbased research or analysis on the biospecimens serves as a supporting role to facilitate research.
Essential Functions:- Collects processes and stores biological specimens according to established protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Maintains accurate records of specimen collection processing and storage.
- Ensures that specimens are properly labeled and tracked throughout the collection and storage process.
- Performs quality control checks on specimens to ensure that they meet established standards.
- Maintains laboratory equipment and supplies and orders new supplies as needed.
- Communicates with other laboratory staff and researchers to ensure that specimens are collected and processed in a timely and efficient manner.
Education Requirement:- Bachelors of Science or equivalent certification and experience required.
- Coursework in anatomy physiology statistics and relevant research methods preferred.
