MARTIN Technologies is seeking a dynamic and experienced Automotive Lab Supervisor to lead and oversee our stateoftheart automotive testing facilities including dyno and advanced vehicle labs. In this role you will be responsible for managing a diverse team of up to 25 technicians ensuring that our labs operate at peak efficiency and safety while delivering innovative reliable solutions for our clients. The ideal candidate has a robust background in engine and automotive systems coupled with proven team leadership and handson technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Management:
Supervise mentor and coordinate up to 25 technicians across various labs fostering a collaborative environment that supports continuous improvement and professional growth. - Operational Oversight:
Manage daytoday operations of the automotive Technicians and Engineers supporting lab facilities including dyno testing fabrication (fabs) electrical diagnostics and mechanical evaluations ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality procedures. Monitoring attendance worked hours PTO requests as examples. - Technical Expertise:
Utilize your indepth knowledge of engine systems vehicle subsystems and automotive testing protocols to troubleshoot issues guide technical strategies and ensure accurate and reliable test outcomes. - Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process enhancements that optimize lab operations reduce downtime and drive efficiency while maintaining the highest quality standards. - Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive records of lab activities testing procedures and performance metrics providing regular reports to senior management to support strategic decisionmaking. - CrossFunctional Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering R&D and manufacturing teams to integrate lab insights into product development innovation and client deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- Technical Background:
Proven handson experience with engine systems dyno operations fabrication electrical diagnostics and mechanical repairs. A strong working knowledge of vehicle subsystems is essential. - Leadership Experience:
Demonstrated experience in managing technical teams with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse group of professionals in a fastpaced environment. Ability to complete Technical Requirements and hold conversations with the Business team to foster growth and development of the team. - Industry Expertise:
Deep understanding of automotive testing processes and safety standards. Prior experience in an automotive or mobility engineering environment is highly valued. - Communication & ProblemSolving:
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences. Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities are critical. - Educational Background:
Bachelors degree in Engineering Automotive Technology or a related technical field is preferred though equivalent handson experience may be considered.
