Heres how a(n)HSE Coordinator for our PCL Industrial Management Inc. office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Monitors and assistswith the implementation of project HSE plan and regulatory requirements
- Assists in conducting and identifying when projectspecific training is required which may include weekly training topics hazard specific training and the HSE Operating Procedure (HSEOP)
- Participates in and provides information for HSE meetings
- Provides project team with projectspecific information and statistics to develop trends and assists with the creation of trend action plans
- Assists with the development and implementation of Hazard ID tools (e.g. Construction Hazard Assessment (CHA) Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Prejob Safety Instruction (PSI)
- Conductsand documentsproject HSE inspections
- Participatesin environmental inspections
- Verifiesthat corrective actions are implemented
- Identifiesand monitors appropriate site PPE
- Assistsproject management and supervision with the implementation of the emergency response plan
- Assistsproject management and supervision with the monitoring of project security requirements
- Assistswith the implementation and monitoring of the environmental plan
- Gathers reviews and providesinput on HSE documentation
- Monitors trade contractor safety compliance
- Verifiesthat equipment and tool inspections are being conducted and documented as per the program
- Notifies project management and direct supervision of any incident and assisting with the investigation
- Assistsin the implementation monitoring and support of the projects HSE Plan HSEOPs safe work practices and any other HSErelated practices.
Qualifications
- Postsecondary diploma or degree in OH&S is considered an asset
- Safety designation such as NCSO CRSP or CHST are considered an asset
- 2 years experience in a related industry with direct experience in HSE
- Knowledge of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation
- Ability to implement HSE processes
- Demonstrated ability to influence project teams regarding HSE responsibility
- Ability to identify and resolve conflicts with craft workers
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Ability to develop influence and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology
