Patient Care Tech Medical Progressive Care Unit

Rotating 36 hours

TheMedical Progressive Care Unitis a 21bed high acuity stepdown unit caring for critically ill adult medical patients. The patient population includes those with complex organ diseases requiring mechanical ventilation vasoactive drips and continuous monitoring. Common medical diagnoses include sepsis respiratory failure GI bleeding liver failure and DKA. This is a highly skilled floor from which new staff will gain instrumental experience. Nursetopatient ratios are 2:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity. There is an opportunity for growth on the MPCU regardless of where you are in your career!

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Active Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in Maryland is required.
  • One year of clinical experience e.g. home care outpatient acute care (hospital preferred) technician experience during the most recent two years in a setting relevant to the unit; volunteer work as EMT or CRT may be considered.
  • BLS CPR certification required: AHA Red Cross or Military Training Network accepted.

Salary Range: Minimum17.37per hour Maximum26.13per hour.Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
