Job Description
Overview
Utility driver for PEP department
This position is 3rd shift 10pm6am.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates industrial powered truck or electric hoist to assist in the loading/unloading of materials and products.
- Determines the amount of packing materials and supplies for operations based on production schedule and assures materials are available.
- Coordinates the Finishing/Cutback saw activity per the production schedule
- Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to determine which materials (skids racks bundles) need to be moved.
- Checks ERP system to confirm quality testing is completed and passed before lining up materials to cells or saws.
- Establishes first in first out of materials from storage to work sites.
- Ques material by lot number from shipping departments to saws/work cells.
- Counts weighs and records number of units or materials moved/handled on daily production sheets.
- Attaches identifying material tags or labels and marks information on containers.
- Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands them together.
- Returns empty racks to shipping areas.
- Supply slat carts to each saw and takes to presses when full.
- Works with scheduler to adjust for changes in the schedule.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One or more years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
- Forklift certification preferred
Other Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Ability to add and subtract twodigit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement volume and distance
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability to operate mobile powered equipment function independently or in a team environment and possess good verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment
Willingness to work in a variety of settings including indoors and outdoors and in different weather conditions
Consistently exhibits a positive respectful attitude towards coworkers and customers
Must be able to pass preemployment physical and drug screen
Must be eligible to work in the United States visa sponsorships are not available
