Job Description

Position Summary:

The NonTenure Track (NTT) Faculty Member in SpeechLanguage Pathology is responsible for supervising the clinical work of graduate and undergraduate students. This includes overseeing clinical assessments interventions and treatments while providing guidance that fosters the development of essential skills for clinical practice. The role includes teaching courses in speechlanguage pathology contributing to professional development initiatives and engaging in service activities related to the university and the broader professional community. Additionally the NTT faculty member will attend departmental and clinical meetings collaborate with faculty and staff and ensure that all clinical activities align with program standards and regulatory guidelines.

RELATED DUTIES:

  • Hours as dictated by oncampus and offcampus clinic operations.
  • Flexible hours as needed to include evening hours and/or weekends.
  • On call procedure for student crisis as needed.
  • Outoftown travel is necessary for continuing education presentations and fieldwork site visits.
  • Attend conferences for continuing education
  • Assist with software updates
  • Uphold and promote the Mission Philosophy of the University and the Sisters of Mercy.
  • Preserve honesty and integrity in the professional affairs of the University; adhere to high standards of ethical practices and conduct.

Education:

  • Masters degree or clinical doctorate in SpeechLanguage Pathology/Communicative Sciences and Disorders

Experience:

  • Minimum of 510 years of clinical experience in both child language and neurogenic disorders.
  • Previous clinical supervision experience is strongly preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience is strongly preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association in SpeechLanguage Pathology or dual certification.
  • Must possess or be eligible for a valid license from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of State Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs as a SpeechLanguage Pathologist.
  • Pennsylvania Teachers Certification preferred.

WorkRelated Knowledge:

  • Must have ability to perform continuing education and training in any additional technology (e.g. recording devices presentation technology and Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices IPads etc. as needed.
