THE OPPORTUNITY
Michelin has an immediate opening in for an Assistant Director of Labor Relations who will be responsible for handling all aspects of the Companys relationship with the unions representing Michelin employees and for creating and driving a positive employee relations strategy for the unionfree sites and areas. This role will serve as the chief labor relations negotiator for the Company.

This opportunity is at our North American Corporate Headquarters in Greenville SC. Greenville is situated just about halfway between Charlotte North Carolina and Atlanta Georgia. WHAT WILL YOU DO
Lead a crossfunctional team during issuesbased negotiations and regular interim meetings with unions.
Develop and implement a labor relations strategy to support North America business ambitions of remaining unionfree particularly in our industrial locations including transformation of current approach development of campaign response and other mitigation plans management training communications etc.
Advise the region and global leadership teams of external trends and/or workplace shifts that could impact the business.
Collaborate with Industry leaders Legal Communications and Community and Government Relations on relevant issues/topics.
Travel approximately 25 throughout the US and Canada.
WHAT WILL YOU BRING
Bachelors degree in relevant field or equivalent proven experience 510 years). Masters degree or other advanced degree preferred.
Strong issuesbased negotiation skills and experience with union campaigns particularly where the union vote was defeated
Strong facilitation coaching/mentoring and collaboration skills
Managerial and/or leadership experience (particularly in manufacturing environments) is preferred; experience working in multinational companies is helpful
Ability to work collaboratively at all levels in the organization from the strategic planning with executive teams to individual facility management teams
Proven experience with human resources policies collective bargaining agreement management and peoplerelated processes particularly with compensation and benefits systems and retirement plan management.
Solid understanding of US labor and employment law; knowledge of Canada labor and employment law is helpful
Strategic skills with leverage of analytics are preferred.
