Preschool Teacher 2s3s) Job Description

Position: Preschool Teacher 2s3s Age Group)
Compensation: $13$15/hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Position Summary:
The Preschool Teacher for the 2s3s age group is responsible for creating a safe nurturing and stimulating environment where young learners can develop their cognitive social emotional and physical skills. This role includes engaging lesson planning classroom management and fostering a love for learning in alignment with the centers curriculum and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Classroom Management:

    • Maintain a safe clean and organized classroom environment.
    • Establish and uphold consistent routines to foster a sense of security and predictability for children.
    • Encourage positive behaviors and model respectful interactions.
  2. Curriculum Implementation:

    • Develop and deliver ageappropriate lesson plans that align with the schools curriculum and developmental milestones.
    • Facilitate activities promoting early literacy numeracy sensory exploration and motor skills.
    • Incorporate playbased and interactive learning techniques to engage children.
  3. Child Development:

    • Observe and document each childs growth and development identifying strengths and areas needing support.
    • Encourage socialemotional learning by teaching conflict resolution sharing and communication skills.
    • Support potty training efforts and other developmental milestones.
  4. Parent Communication:

    • Build relationships with families to create a partnership in their childs learning and development.
    • Provide daily updates and progress reports to parents through newsletters apps or conversations.
    • Address parent questions or concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  5. Health and Safety:

    • Ensure compliance with all health and safety guidelines including monitoring children during play and transitions.
    • Administer first aid and follow procedures for emergencies if needed.
    • Maintain cleanliness and sanitize toys surfaces and materials regularly.
  6. Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with teaching assistants coteachers and school staff to ensure consistency and a supportive classroom environment.
    • Participate in staff meetings training sessions and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year working with children aged 23 in a childcare or preschool setting.
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid Certification preferred. Must meet local licensing requirements.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Creativity and enthusiasm for teaching young children.
    • Ability to adapt lesson plans to individual and group needs.
    • Knowledge of early childhood developmental stages and best practices.
Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and move freely to engage with children at their level.
  • Stamina to keep up with an active classroom environment.
Work Environment:

  • Indoor classroom setting with occasional outdoor supervision and activities.
