Job Description

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

PRN

Great opportunity in an acute care setting!

Work location: Texas Health Cleburne 201 Walls Drive Cleburne TX 76033

Therapy Services

  • Work hours: PRN: On an as needed basis between the MondayFriday 8:00AM5:00PM time frame Very Flexible Schedule Hours Vary Weekend and holidays are rare.

Therapy Services:

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne is a 137bed fullservice hospital that has served Cleburne and the Johnson County area since 1986. Located about 35 miles south of Fort Worth hospital services include surgery gastroenterology orthopedics and ear nose and throat care. The center has over 80 physicians on its medical staff and has been recognized as a Top Performer for Quality Care in a nationwide performance improvement project an accredited Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers and designated a Pathway to Excellence hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Heres What You Need

Masters Degree Speech Language Pathology Required Or
Other PostBaccalaureate degree recognized by the American SpeechLanguageHearing Association Required

SLP Experience with adult population acute care hospitalbased inpatient and outpatient setting.

Experience with Modified Barium Swallowing Studies (MBSS)

SLP Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Required

BCLS Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.

Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Problem solving ability; Ability to teach others.

Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills Basic leadership skills.

What You Will Do

Performs ageappropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.

Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.

Educates patient and family through instruction demonstration and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan safety issues home
programs/selfmanagement and assistive equipment.

Documents all aspects of assessment plan of care and recertifications in accordance with departmental TJC Medicare and other applicable regulatory guidelines.

Works in partnership with peers other disciplines and departmental personnel
