Description

General Job Summary: Frontline problem solver working to maximize patient flow and staff communication.


Essential Job Functions:

  1. It is expected that the majority of the Clinic Leads daily work will be related to direct patient care.
  2. Provide assistance to staff patients students and providers to assure a smooth efficient patient flow through the clinic.
  3. Assists clinic to maximize productivity and provide support to leadership in day to day coordination of all team members.
  4. Firstline problem solving skills with the ability to listen understand and solve or escalate provider issues before they become more serious.
  5. Facilitating the orientation of new staff.
  6. Provide first level support to research issues surrounding complaints billing registration and then communicating findings to manager.
  7. Ability to execute job duties with an understanding of issues that need to be executed to the Office Manager.
  8. Ensure and generate a positive attitude between front and back office staff.
  9. Clearly communicate and monitor any new processes to the department/unit.
  10. Provide ongoing useful objective and constructive input.
  11. Adheres to all organization and department policies and procedures (includes policy handbook) to contribute to the efficiency of the office and organization and advise the Office Coordinator or Office Manager of any staff member deviating from them.
  12. Ensures compliance for clinical area with HIPAA OSHA and safety standards and regulations.
  13. This job description reflects managements assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
Requirements

Education/Experience: High school diploma plus Medical certification. Minimum two years of excellent customer service experience in a medical office setting or proven business management experience preferred. CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred.


Other Requirements: Schedules will change as department needs change including overtime and weekends. Travel as needed.


Performance Requirements:

  1. Knowledge of electronic health records and practice management systems.
  2. Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA guidelines
  3. Knowledge of medical practice care and terminology.
  4. Knowledge of examination diagnostic and treatment room procedures.

Skills:

  1. Strong leadership skills and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
  2. Strong critical thinking skills.
  3. Strong customer service skills.

Abilities:

  1. Ability to project a pleasant and professional image.
  2. Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
  3. Ability to proactively plan prioritize and complete tasks.
  4. Ability to demonstrate compassion while caring for others.
  5. Ability to be a team player. Support and assist team members. Be available to help and learn from the team. Keep an open mind to feedback and earn trust of staff and providers.
  6. Ability to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situations.

Equipment Operated: Standard medical and office equipment.


Work Environment: Medical office and exam/procedure room settings.


Mental/Physical Requirements: Standing and walking 90 of the time. Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking dressing etc. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
