Position Summary:
The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) is a public safety professional that responds to medical emergencies and other medical transport needs in prehospital and interfacility settings. Upon arrival the AEMT performs triage and initial survey provides emergency care through careful assessment of the patient and recognizes injuries and illnesses. The AEMT shall also gain knowledge of preexisting medical conditions previous medications medical preferences and identification of the patient.

Minimum Education:
None specified; however must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience:
Must maintain AEMT license. Two 2 years of experience in EMS or in another healthcare setting preferred.
Licensure Requirement:
Must have and maintain current TN license as required to perform the duties of an AEMT in the State of Tennessee. Employee must have a valid drivers license and state mandated minimum insurance coverage. Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.
