Job Description

Marblehead Public SchoolsSpeech/Language Pathologist Job Description Summer 2025 Position The Marblehead Public School District is currently seeking highly qualified applicants for a fulltime Speech and Language Pathologist to fill an assignment within the district. The SpeechLanguage Pathologist is responsible for assessing diagnosing and treating students with speech language and communication disorders as well supporting students with assistive technology used during the school day.. This role involves collaborating with educators parents and other professionals to support students academic and social success.Qualifications:Education: Masters degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology or a related field.Licensure: DESEissued license to practice as a SpeechLanguage Pathologist.Experience: Previous experience working with children in a school setting is preferred.Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with students parents and staff.Certificate of Clinical Competence (Clinical Fellows may be considered). A Speech Pathologist Assistant with exceptional experience will also be considered.Key Responsibilities:Assessment: Conduct evaluations to identify speech and language disorders in students including articulation fluency and language comprehension.Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each students needs ensuring compliance with educational standards.Therapeutic Intervention: Provide direct therapy to improve communication skills utilizing various techniques and materials.Collaboration: Work closely with teachers parents and school staff to create a supportive environment for students offering strategies to accommodate their needs in the classroom.Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and document students progress adjusting treatment plans as necessary.Education and Training: Educate families on communication strategies and how to support their childs development at home.Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices and advancements in speechlanguage pathology.Provide services on an individual or smallgroup basisKnowledge and experience with AAC devicesMaintain documentation on students under their careExperience across multiple grade levels preferredUnderstanding of traumainformed practicesCommitment to fostering an inclusive milieuMarblehead Public Schools is committed to sustaining an inclusive environment that fosters belonging and acceptance.
