Under the supervision of the Network Services Team Manager the IT Technician III supports the colleges network infrastructure by troubleshooting maintaining and optimizing network systems to ensure reliable connectivity and security. This role provides technical support to faculty and staff manages system access and assists with backup and business continuity planning. The technician actively develops technical skills contributes to documentation and ensures compliance with IT standards. Strong customer service and problemsolving abilities are essential to effectively supporting the colleges technology needs.
This position requires a bachelors degree in information technology systems computer science or a related field and experience in information technology systems or a related area. Relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree on a yearforyear basis. Preferred certifications include CompTIA Network Cisco CCNA or equivalent industry certifications.
Ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of modern network support and experience troubleshooting network infrastructure servers and connectivity issues. Analytical and problemsolving skills and the ability to create and maintain technical documentation are essential. The ability to research and learn new technologies as needed is also essential. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are critical for effectively assisting end users collaborating with team members and communicating technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
