As a Regional Accounting Manager you will oversee the financial control function with a focus on ensuring accurate delivery of financial statements and statutory reporting including global capital and liquidity requirements. You will be responsible for executing quality assurance programs over statutory reports. You will also leverage your technical accounting as well as capital and liquidity knowledge to provide subject matter expertise to various projects and initiatives. Further you will be responsible for implementing and documenting accounting and control processes.



Responsibilities

This role is responsible for legal entity accounting and reporting; including a) management of capital and liquidity and b) interpretation and assessment of technical accounting pronouncements. This role is also responsible for the of a quality assurance program over legal entity reporting and documenting accounting and control processes.

Some of your key responsibilities and accountabilities will include:

  • Prepares clear and robust analysis of the correct accounting treatment for any judgmental accounting positions or complex adhoc transactions; documents established positions in accounting papers and provides accounting guidance to regional teams and stakeholders
  • Ensures compliance and reporting of capital and liquidity requirements for assigned regional subsidiaries
  • Manages external audits and the relationship with external auditor efficiently
  • Contributes to both regional and groupwide ad hoc projects including continuous improvements group initiatives and participation in transformation activity where required
  • Contributes to leading the regional Financial Control team managing and developing more junior team members
  • Provides input to local Board reporting


Qualifications

What will you bring to the role

You will bring proven work experience in the financial services industry ideally with a focus on corporate trust. You have a desire to drive continuous improvement and effectively support projectrelated initiatives. You posses excellent interpersonal skills which allow you to build strong relationships foster collaboration and communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Other key skills required for the role include:

  • Experience assessing and managing regulatory capital liquidity and stress testing requirements in the United States Canada United Kingdom and European Union
  • Experience interpreting documenting educating and advocating in a collaborative manner advanced positions in accordance with 1 accounting pronouncements including IFRS GAAP and AASB and 2 regulatory reporting instructions including FFIEC and TIC
  • Record of accomplishment implementing documenting and executing a robust risk management framework to ensure all risks are fully understood and all relevant controls are working effective
  • Experience of managing and resolving financial and compliance issues and managing audits
  • Extensive demonstrated experience influencing managing coaching and coordinating cross functional teams with engagement from all layers of the organization
  • 5 years experience in a financial control or accounting function
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
  • Accounting qualification (CPA ACA ACCA or local equivalent)
  • Proven ability to analyze information and make independent decisions
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
