Contracts Grant Reviewer 1 2 or 3
Office of Operations

As part of a Career Progression Group vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Contracts/Grants Reviewer 1 2 or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.

Job Focus Area:
The Contracts/Grants Reviewer 1/2/3 is responsible for professional work of a technical varied and extremely complex nature involving grants management (including programmatic and administrative analysis) specialized contract development/preparation review control monitoring and analysis and reporting relative to appropriations in the LDOE Office of Operations.

The incumbent of this position will be expected to have the followings skills and knowledge:
  • Knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel etc. and Google Suite (Google Docs Google Sheets etc.
  • Creating shopping carts and purchase orders in LaGov DTS
  • Contract management and review

  • Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to comply with policies and procedures of the organization as well as State Civil Service rules and all applicable federal and state laws.
  • Managing Resources: The ability to ensure resources such as time money and people are utilized appropriately to result in maximum business value.
  • Using Data:The ability to use relevant and valid data to inform a recommendation for action.

**Note regarding the advertised pay range: The maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title andNOTthe maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.

This position is located in Baton Rouge LA.The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. This position may be filled as a probationary new hire or by promotion of any current permanent classified State of Louisiana employee. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if selected.

Job Distinctions:
Differs from Contracts/Grants Reviewer 2 by performing routine entry level duties.

Examples of Work

Tasks performed are at the entry level:
Prepares develops and monitors routine and less complex contracts and/or grants agreements applications budgets amendments and subgrant agreements in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements and departmental policies and procedures.

Works with administrators officials and other personnel to solve contract problems.

Maintains records prepares reports and/or correspondence relative to contracts and/or grants.

Provides assistance to program personnel in preparation of grants proposals or contracts agreements.

Reviews reports and records to ensure costs claimed are allowable and to ensure contract/grant is on schedule and terms are being met.

Assists in the preparation of RFPs (Requests for Proposals).

Tracks the approval process of contracts/grants ensuring all necessary approvals are received. Researches grant awards and state appropriation budgets to make sure that funds are available.

Obtains and reviews performance evaluations after completion of a project to comply with state law within established time limits.

Performs original entries reconciliations and all adjustments to grants management accounting records.
