Job Summary
The Director of Athletics is the senior position in the Athletics Department at the Metropolitan Campus and reports directly to the President. The Director of Athletics is responsible for creating and leading an environment for a competitive and respected Division I athletics program that is committed to the studentathlete experience and to the betterment of the whole University. The Director along with the President and other stakeholders will develop and help implement a strategic plan for athletics that is tied to the overall strategic plan of the University. The Director will hire mentor and support the coaching and administrative staff for athletics and set a positive tone and winning attitude all while maintaining the highest standards of moral and ethical conduct. The Director will build and maintain strong relationships with a broad range of constituents including members of the campus community alumni and neighboring communities.

The ability to interact with diverse groups of people at all levels. 7.A commitment and sensitivity to diversity and inclusion gender equity and equal opportunity and to the development of an inclusive campus culture. 8.Experience in facilities oversight and planning budget management and strategic planning. 9.Political acumen in dealing with donors and colleagues. 10.The readiness to embrace and promote the traditions and heritage of FDU athletics. 11.Experience as a builder of programs as an innovator and as a talented assessor and risktaker. 12.A strong orientation toward an integrated program of external relations including experience partnering with an alumni relations operation. 13.A demonstrable passion and enthusiasm for the position and respect for work ethic joined with an understanding and modeling of worklife balance. 14.Willingness to travel extensively often on evenings and weekends. 15.Bachelors degree required; masters or doctoral degree preferred. 16.Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
