Job Description
- Assumes responsibilities in teaching pupils utilizing a course of study adopted by the Westfield Public Schools and appropriate curriculum publications as guidelines in teaching individual course content.
- Assumes responsibilities in instructing pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in stat law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
- Consults as appropriate with the principal before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified in the lesson plans.
- Maintains records as appropriate including checking test papers recording grades student assignments for homework projects and the necessary clerical work required to maintain student records for a teacher who is absent.
- Provides for individualized and small group assistance for students as indicated by lesson plans.
- Any other job duties as assigned by the building principal and/or the Superintendent of Schools.
