Job Description

Overview

The Accounts Payable AP Specialist is a frontline accounting position reporting directly to the Accounts Payable Manager. The AP Specialist is responsible for processing invoices and payments received from vendors and suppliers. This involves reviewing invoices for accuracy and completeness ensuring they are correctly coded and approved and entering data into the accounting system.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Perform daytoday administration of all payment cycle activities and provide efficient client service.
  • Manage full AP cycle for assigned vendors including the related coordination with business process owners.
  • Ensures correct sorting general ledger coding and matching invoices/receipts where applicable.
  • Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures established by the Company.
  • Ensure the Companys authorization matrix approves invoices before payment.
  • Process expense reports for employees using the software Concur.
  • Review Concur expense reports that are kicked back from Concur audit for Finance/Accounting Review.
  • Manage purchase order system (Point Purchasing).
  • Assist with vendor purchase orders and answer all vendor inquiries.
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Perform fullcycle AP processes.
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
  • Must adhere to Iovance Biotherapeutics core values policies procedures and business ethics.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required Education Skills and Knowledge

  • High school diploma required.
  • 2 years of Accounts Payable experience
  • Good understanding of accounting principles such as GAAP.
  • Proficient in using ERP/ or other accounting software.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including effective interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize follow up and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and highvolume environment.
  • Willingness to learn and take on special projects as needed

Preferred Education Skills and Knowledge

  • An Associate degree in Business Accounting or Finance with collegelevel accounting courses are a plus.
  • Familiarity with Point Purchasing Bill & NetSuite.

  • Must have visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures view a computer screen and read extensively.

  • Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information.

Work Environment

This job works in a professional office environment and a manufacturing lab setting. Potential exposure to latex bleach loud noise lab equipment hazards strong odors and chemical/biochemical is possible. Requires operating standard office equipment and keyboards.
