Job Description
Summary:
Polamer Precision is seeking a detailoriented and proactive Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problemsolving skills along with solid experience in financial accounting. Exposure to a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Core Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries and schedules for monthend close.
- Understand and reconcile Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts addressing outstanding issues or concerns.
- Reconcile credit card accounts bank statements and checking account sweeps.
- Complete monthly internal financial close reports and present financial data to management.
- Review the accuracy of wage computations and process biweekly journal entries related to payroll
- Crosstrain in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions and reporting.
- Assist in preparing the annual budget for revenue and direct or indirect costs.
- Participate in data collection and response preparation for any external audits.
- Prepare annual census reports and assist with government filings.
- Perform basic analysis of cost records comparing actual versus standard costs and prepare variance reports. Conduct inventory cycle counts.
- Support adhoc internal and external financial projects and audits as requested by the Controller and CFO.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting and at least 2 years of experience or equivalent education and relevant work experience.
- Proficient with computers Microsoft Office Teams and SharePoint.
- Strong experience with general ledger account analysis and Excel.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Excellent critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Selfstarter with the ability to work independently.
- Primarily sedentary work involving sitting at a desk using a computer and communicating via phone.
- Ability to stand and walk in an office environment and manufacturing facility
