Job Description

Job Title: Accountant

Summary:
Polamer Precision is seeking a detailoriented and proactive Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problemsolving skills along with solid experience in financial accounting. Exposure to a manufacturing environment is preferred.


Core Responsibilities:
  • Prepare journal entries and schedules for monthend close.
  • Understand and reconcile Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts addressing outstanding issues or concerns.
  • Reconcile credit card accounts bank statements and checking account sweeps.
  • Complete monthly internal financial close reports and present financial data to management.
  • Review the accuracy of wage computations and process biweekly journal entries related to payroll
  • Crosstrain in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions and reporting.
  • Assist in preparing the annual budget for revenue and direct or indirect costs.
  • Participate in data collection and response preparation for any external audits.
  • Prepare annual census reports and assist with government filings.
  • Perform basic analysis of cost records comparing actual versus standard costs and prepare variance reports. Conduct inventory cycle counts.
  • Support adhoc internal and external financial projects and audits as requested by the Controller and CFO.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting and at least 2 years of experience or equivalent education and relevant work experience.
  • Proficient with computers Microsoft Office Teams and SharePoint.
  • Strong experience with general ledger account analysis and Excel.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Selfstarter with the ability to work independently.
Physical Requirements:
  • Primarily sedentary work involving sitting at a desk using a computer and communicating via phone.
  • Ability to stand and walk in an office environment and manufacturing facility
