The Division of Facilities Management exists to plan design construct operate maintain and manage the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) facilities and campuses according to all applicable standards in a manner that promotes the CDHS mission of providing a safe sanitary and effective environment for clients youth residents consumers and staff and enhances the quality of life in CDHS facilities and campuses.
Facilities served: Colorado Mental Health Hospital in Pueblo (CMHHIP) Department of Corrections (DOC) facilities in Pueblo Pueblo Regional Center (PRC) Division of Youth Services (DYS) (Zeb Pike Spring Creek and Pueblo) and the Veterans Community Living Centers in the southern district. Total Facilities are approximately 2 million sq. ft. at multiple sites in over 110 buildings.

The purpose of this position is to maintain facilities and support systems according to all applicable regulatory standards providing a safe secure and sanitary environment for clients patients inmates and staff. Meet the facilities needs of the Department of Human Services Southern Region customers. Manage available resources to provide a physical environment at the highest quality possible. This position is to maintain all electrical branchcircuit feeder service equipment bonding systems devices equipment and facility systems in a complete and thorough journeymanlike manner using proper procedures tools and equipment and maintain all systems in accordance with applicable code and regulatory standards. This includes maintenance of allcommercial/residential steam electric and gas kitchen equipment and appliances in accordance with applicable code and regulatory standards. This position is required to drive a State Vehicles as part of daily work assignment to carry out Work orders.
This is a fulltime inperson essential position. Shift work may be required. Must be available for and respond to call backs after hours to perform essential and/or emergency services of the agency in a timely manner.
Essential Positions. Positions that perform essential law enforcement highway maintenance and other support services directly necessary for the health safety and welfare of patients residents and inmates of state institutions or state facilities. Employees in essential positions can be only FLSA non exempt and can be required to work unexpected or unusual work hours to perform the essential and/or emergency services of the department without delay and/or without interruption.
Call Back applies when an eligible employee is required to report to work before the start or after the end of a scheduled shift.

A full preemployment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process as this position is deemed to have direct contact with vulnerable persons. Felony convictions conviction of crimes of moral turpitude or convictions of misdemeanors related to job duties may disqualify you from being considered for this position. Should your background check reveal any charges or convictions it is your responsibility to provide the CDHS Background Unit with an official disposition of any charges.
Must be willing to submit and pass a full background check.
Must possess and maintain current valid licensure as a journeyman electrician from the Colorado Electrical Board throughout employment in this position..
Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. drivers license.
Travel This position will be required to drive State Vehicles as part of daily work assignment from site to site equipped with tools and equipment to perform daily duties. May be required to travel to training and meetings.
Must be willing to receive an annual influenza vaccination or provide a document for a medical exemption or a letter for religious exemption.
Must successfully pass a Tuberculosis (TB) test.
Must be available for call back to perform essential and/or emergency services without delay and/or without interruption..
Must be available for shift work. May be required to work various hours for coverage outside of normal business hours.
Use Handling or Exposure to hazardous materials Explain: Proximity to moving mechanical parts Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Exposure to electrical shock and or working in highly exposed places. Use of cleaners detergents and other chemicals.
Post Offer screening to include dynamic strength testing eye exam and physical. All job offers are contingent on a successful physical exam which also includes a lift and range of motion test provided by a designated health care professional certifying the candidates ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Applicants must consent to hold harmless CDHS and its agents and staff from any liability arising in whole or in part from this process and the use of this information in connection with CDHSs consideration of application for employment.
Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must disclose the information on the application and provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position. Absent extraordinary circumstances prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.
