About us
Job Purpose
To manage a HR business service team within to ensure the effective and timely provision of these services to National Grid.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee the delivery of key projects and with relevant inputs to enhance overall operational effectiveness.
- Provide for effective planning and of nonstandard business as usual workload so that this can be effectively accommodated alongside normal activities and ensure such additional workload in executed in a timely manner without prejudicing or compromising other work.
- Review operating processes in assigned HR business area and drive process improvements to realise quantifiable benefits.
- Ensure appropriate and timely escalation of issues where necessary to facilitate timely resolution.
- Design and monitor appropriate metrics to ensure effective performance and continuous improvement in the work of the team.
- Provide general support in the fulfilment of management duties and contribute to the overall optimisation of service provision.
- Ensure all key business controls operate in accordance with documented process.
Supervisory/Interpersonal Experience Required
- Ability to adapt approaches and utilise and align skills to different customer groups.
- Ability to set and manage customer expectations.
- Team leadership skill with ability to manage outsourced providers and offshore teams.
Qualifications
- Degreelevel qualification or equivalent in business/HR/Professional or Learning and Development areas
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) or Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)
- Knowledge of project management including operating SAP systems reporting tools and related technical needs
- Knowledge of relevant HR business area with understanding and application of change management and performance excellence toolkits
