MEDIA RELATIONS ASSISTANT

Bridgewater College seeks a Media Relations Assistant in the Office of Marketing & Communications (OMC). This is a 32hourperweek temporary position from May through August 2025.
Reporting to the Editor and Media Relations Director the Media Relations Assistant will support the Colleges marketing and communication initiatives and be responsible for several shortterm administrative projects. The Media Relations Assistant will also write stories for the College news website and proof/copyedit stories press releases and other College communications. It is important that the Media Relations Assistant be a strong writer eager to learn new technology and comfortable communicating with faculty staff and the public.

GENERAL INFORMATION:Bridgewater College was founded in 1880 as a coeducational liberal arts college to serve the local community. Located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley just minutes outside of Harrisonburg and within driving distance of Charlottesville Washington D.C. and Richmond Bridgewater is home to approximately 1400 fulltime students from 26 states and 19 countries. Bridgewater students study across 60 majors and minors in addition to four graduate programs and 10 preprofessional programs.
