Stage Scenery & Lighting Director
Job Description: Set Designer/Builder Stage Scenery)
Responsibilities
The Set Designer/Builder is responsible for designing and building the set ordering and obtaining needed supplies and maintaining the shops equipment and supplies in an orderly manner. The Set Designer/Builder works with the Directors and the Set Painter to ensure a cohesive look for the show. The Set Designer/Builder will teach the stage crew and performers how to move and interact with the set in a safe manner and will ensure that the stage is free from obstructions that might impede the set up of other events in Stretton Hall.
Attend all production meetings.
Maintain the tool room and equipment
Maintain a clean and orderly workspace on the Stretton Hallstage
Work with directors to plan and design the set
Collaborate with set painter
Attend and direct the breakdown and clean up of the set during strike
Anticipated Work Schedule
34 Production meetings
Design finalized November 2024
Set building Dec 24Jan 25
Crew/cast training JanFeb 2025
Set Strike March 24 2025
Requirements
PA Child Abuse Clearance PA Criminal Record Check Federal Criminal History Check
completion of paperwork from Cheltenham School Districts Human Resources Department including Health Record

Compensation
6 EDEP units before taxes paid by school district paid in 2 installments: March and May 2025
Unlimited comp tickets to any of the performances
The undersigned agrees to perform the Cheltenham Music Theatre Set designer/Builder position as described above. The Set designer/Builder agrees not to enter into any other agreements that would prevent him/her from fulfilling the terms of this agreement.
