The Department of Computer Science Mathematics and Statistics at Vermont State University invites applications for a tenuretrack position in Mathematics at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in August 2025. This position will be based at the Randolph campus.

The Computer Science Mathematics and Statistics Department is comprised of a collaborative and supportive group of faculty that offers programs in Data Science and Applied Statistics Information Technology Mathematics and Software Engineering. The incumbents home campus (Randolph) is located in the center of the state within easy reach of the mountains lakes resorts and local arts.The mathematics faculty at the Randolph campus serve a variety of STEM and health care programs many of which have external accreditation.

Job Description and Responsibilities

The new faculty member will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate courses including Statistics Calculus Principles of Mathematics Discrete Math Technical Math Applied Math for Health Sciences Applied Math for Engineering. Candidates with plans to involve undergraduate students in research and publications are encouraged to apply. We also seek candidates with interest in developing internal and external collaborations.

In addition to teaching and research faculty at VTSU are expected to participate in and contribute to university committees scholarship and professional development student advising service to the college community development of curriculum and educational facilities as needed and other duties related to teaching effectiveness scholarship and service to the university community.

Salary

Based on qualifications and experience as defined by VSCVSCFF Bargaining Unit Agreement. Per this agreement the minimum salary for an Assistant Professor will be not less than $55000 USD per annum plus a comprehensive benefit and retirement package.
