Job Description
High School Diploma Required. Two years of college preferred. Requires verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in collaboration with others. No experience required. One year patient care or related experience preferred preferably in a psychiatric setting. Drivers license (MA CT NH NY RI VT) preferred (varies by program) and ability to satisfactorily meet hospital driving standards. Successful candidate must possess basic computer skills in order to use a variety of electronic systems to access and/or maintain personal employmentrelated data satisfy required annual trainings and use jobspecific applications. Since 1811 McLean Hospital has been a world leader in the treatment of mental illness and chemical dependency research into the cause of mental illness and the training of generations of mental health care providers. Major clinical programs at McLean Hospital address a broad range of psychiatric illnesses including: depression bipolar and psychotic disorders; mood and anxiety disorders; alcohol and drug abuse; dissociative disorders; Alzheimers disease and other geriatric illnesses; and child and adolescent psychiatric disorders. Each program offers access to a full continuum of care including acute inpatient care acute residential care partial hospitalization continuing residential care options and outpatient services. McLeans multidisciplinary team responds to each patients situation with a commitment to individualized treatment that may include individual psychotherapy group therapy psychopharmacology and rehabilitation services. Successful candidate will provide direct patient care through group and individual counseling in accordance with current treatment plan. Establishes relationships with patients that are helpful and maintains professional boundaries. Intervenes in managing complex patient situations. Participates in leading and coleading patient groups. Provides and supervises community activities according to needs. Provides patients with direction and supervision as needed. Communicates information regarding patient milieu/therapeutic environment to appropriate staff in a timely manner. Employment at McLean Hospital is contingent upon a successful CORI (Criminal Background Check) National Background Check and clearance from the Occupational Health Department. Medication Administration Program Certification. Applicants who are not currently MAP(Medication Administratin Progam) certified will have a specified time period from the date of hire to successfully complete a McLean sponsored MAP certification program. Successful passing of the Medication Administration Certification is a requirement of the job. The salary range for this position is $12.50 $14.94. Exact salaries are calculated when a job offer is to be made and are based on a candidates experience and qualifications. Employees in this position are eligible for shift differentials.Employees are expected to remain awake and alert at all times on all shifts.
