Job Description

General Summary:
Installs operates maintains and repairs all hospital mechanical and HVACequipment and related machinery. Installs operates maintains and repairs HVACcontrol systems including pneumatic electropneumatic systems that controlsall hospital building environments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installs repairs andmaintains hospital commercial and domestic refrigeration systems airconditioning heating and ventilation systems according to manufacturersspecifications.
- Design installmaintain and repair air duct systems refrigeration piping and control wiringaccording to established procedures for heat load and equipment.
- Service pneumatic andelectronic control systems encompassing humidification control systemsaccording to manufactures specifications
- Perform seasonalmaintenance on centrifugal and reciprocation chillers and water towersincluding 5150 ton units.
- Perform watertreatment and maintenance for cooling towers and chill water systems accordingto established procedures.
- Service ultra coldfreezers and specialized medical and research refrigeration systems andenvironmental systems.
- Installs inspectsand maintains warm and cold air steam and hot water heating and ventilatingunits according to established procedures and manufacturers specifications.
- Maintains appropriateenvironmental conditions in all research animal and computer areas asdemonstrated by maintaining humidity thermometer and air flow levels withinacceptable ranges.
- Operate computercontrols of building management systems according to seasonal requirements.

Education: High School or trade school graduate
License:Massachusetts Refrigeration License
Skills: Knowledge of state and local building codesblueprint reading and use of tools and materials. Ability to estimate time and materials neededto complete a job.
Experience: 4yearapprenticeship or equivalent on the job training AND 2 years experiencepreferred.
