Education/Degree
- Completionof formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school required.
- Certificationby the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or registry eligible withsuccessful completion of the registry within three months of hire.
Experience- Twoyears experience preferred.
Licensure
- Currentand valid Massachusetts license to perform radiography.
Skills(Specificlearned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills keyboardingpresentation CPR ACLS etc.
- Effective verbal electronic andwritten communications skills using the English language.
- Computerproficiency required. Microsoft officeapplications preferred with ability to learn new software.

Underthe general direction of the department leader and the clinical direction ofthe Radiologist perform radiographic procedures at a technical level notrequiring constant supervision of technical detail. Perform a variety of technical procedures asdirected by a physician serving patients of all ages and requiringindependent judgment to apply ionizing radiation for radiologicaldiagnosis. The majority of patients willbe from the adult and geriatric age groups.Perform a variety of patient contact duties that may include educatingpatients/families to safety protocols and to routine diagnostic procedures.Utilize the Meditech Admissions and Radiology Modules for patientprocessing. Employ(CR) Computerized Radiography for digital capture of diagnostic images. Ensurethat images are archived properly in Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital (SRH)PACS and efficiently transmitted to Teleradiology for interpretation.
- Radiographic equipment is operated according to establishedguidelines.
- Diagnostic radiology services are provided for patients of allages applying the principals of radiation protection and in adherence todepartment policy and procedure.
- Patientrequests are processed in Meditech Radiology Module and required informationsystems per established guidelines.
- Patientcare and education is provided for performance of procedures.
- Immediateor emergency patient care interventions are taken as necessitated by patientcondition and per hospital guidelines.
- Properpatient positioning and technique selection is used to ensure radiographtechnical quality standards. Contributes positively to meeting departmentalgoal of a retake analysis.
- Radiationsafety principles contact precautions proper handling of requisitions andpre/post procedures are integrated into work practices.
- Physicianassistance is provided with imaging procedures and administration of contractmedia to meet established guidelines.
- Additionaldepartment organization or network activities are completed per establishedobjectives.
