GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
This is a parttime perdiem position to support the basic function of a busy research laboratory.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Wash and autoclave laboratory glassware.
2.Prepare general laboratory solutions and buffers
3.Stock shelves with inventory and note to lab manager if items need to be ordered
4.May assist with minor experiments with training
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma and some undergraduate studies in the sciences.
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Must have good attention to detail
Good communication and ability to work as part of a team is necessary
Must be able to set a consistent working schedule and perform duties as scheduled.
Ability to stand for long periods of time
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This person will be working in a busy laboratory environment. There is the potential to be exposed to hazardous chemicals. The person in this position will be exposed to high temperatures when working with the autoclave but will be provided appropriate safety protection. This position requires lifting and bending. General laboratory safety training will be provided.
