QUALIFICATIONS:
A Ph.D. is required in the area of affective nutritional or cognitive neuroscience psychology or a related discipline.
Qualified applicants must have experience in working with clinical populations (individuals with disordered eating; psychiatric disorders) a solid foundation in conducting fMRI studies (including collection analysis and interpretation of fMRI data) and a track record of firstauthor research papers published in peerreviewed journals.
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Highly desirable qualifications include experience in the implementation of the Trier Social Stress Test familiarity with SPM Matlab and UNIX/Linux environments and programming skills.
Applicants must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work both within a team and independently.

GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Division of Womens Health and the Connors Center for Womens Health at Brigham and Womens Hospital are inviting applications for a postdoctoral fellowship position in clinical neuroscience and neuroimaging related to reward processing in obesity and depression (PI: Laura Holsen). The focus of our lab is on understanding factors (including genotype sex neuroendocrine functioning neural circuitry activity diet stress and mood) that drive appetite eating behaviors and weight change with a broad goal of ameliorating negative health outcomes and chronic diseases associated with obesity and disordered eating such as diabetes cardiovascular disease and psychiatric disorders such as depression. In our work we explore these themes using various neuroimaging approaches (BOLD fMRI arterial spin labeling) in combination with neuroendocrine measurements and behavioral assessments with foundational work focused on genetic mechanisms. We work in close collaboration with colleagues in psychiatry nutrition endocrinology and radiology/functional neuroimaging. There is subject contact so we are looking for people who would enjoy patient contact.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In addition to handson conduct of experiments and neuroimaging acquisition duties will include analysis of fMRI serology and behavioral data manuscript preparation presentation of findings at conferences and management of research assistants.
The Fellow will participate actively in ongoing studies of appetite hormones and brain activity contribute to grant submissions complete pilot projects have opportunities for publications and presentations using new and existing datasets and be encouraged to prepare independent research grants.
Mentorship will be provided by the PI along with opportunities to interact with a diverse team of collaborators including clinicians with expertise in obesity treatment neuroscientists neuroanatomists psychiatrists and physicists.
The Fellow will also perform other researchrelated duties as required.
A two year commitment is required.
