Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance and Upgrades:

  • Perform regular maintenance activities on our software systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Plan and execute upgrades to keep the software uptodate with the latest features security patches and enhancements.
  • Work with the Director of Technical Operations to develop monitor document and maintain best practices for system administration network and application security and compliance with Harris data and security policies.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

  • Assess a variety of situations reviewing server and network operations software configuration setup and software code to identify the correct resolution or escalate according to departmental guidelines.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems promptly.

System Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor system performance and conduct performance tuning to optimize the software for maximum efficiency.
  • Assess a variety of situations reviewing server and network operations software configuration setup and software code and identify the correct resolution or escalate according to departmental guidelines.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Report detailed information within the client tracking system and document processes routines and programs by following the defined guidelines and team goals & objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate documentation of system configurations
  • Work closely with other team members as part of a cohesive group in exchanging knowledge through peertopeer interaction training sessions responding to and mitigating technical issues and fulfilling assigned responsibilities per the teams regular and oncall schedule.
  • Maximize and maintain current knowledge and awareness of applications and related technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

Technical Proficiency:

  • Strong understanding of onpremises and cloudbased software infrastructure and technologies.
  • Experience with system administration configuration and troubleshooting in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Experience with system administration configuration and troubleshooting in cloud and virtual unfractured environments.

ProblemSolving Skills:

  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Aptitude for identifying patterns and trends to proactively address potential problems.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills working effectively with various teams and stakeholders.

Customer Focus:

  • Dedication to understanding and meeting customer needs and ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Focus on continuous improvement to enhance customer satisfaction and product quality.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience with Linux or Windows system administration.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in technical operations system administration or a related role.
  • 3 years of relevant experience with Cloud administration.
  • 3 years of relevant experience with LAMP stack or similar technology stacks.
  • Experience training users in applications and operating system fundamentals and writing documentation.
  • Certifications and indepth experience in public cloud technologies such as AWS Microsoft Azure or equivalent.
  • Certifications in Windows Server such as Windows Server Fundamentals MCSA or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server such as SQL Fundamentals MCSA or equivalent experience.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT

  • Indepth knowledge of Linux system administration
  • An indepth understanding of configuration management systems (e.g. Ansible Chef Puppet SaltStack etc. is a plus.
  • Ability to write scripts (e.g. Bash Powershell Python Perl etc..
  • Knowledge about upcoming technologies like Kubernetes Docker SDN or SDS
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
  • Experience with web development tools and Jave platforms such as Nginx Glassfish Payara or Keycloak.
  • Proficiency with TeamSupport ClickUp and Microsoft Teams.
  • Prior exposure to ERP software.
