Job Description

Overview:
The Survey Cad Technician plays a pivotal role in the success of engineering construction and architectural projects. This position is responsible for generating precise drawing and survey data that serves as the foundation for various development initiatives. By utilizing advanced computeraided design (CAD) software the technician must collect analyze and interpret data providing invaluable support to surveyors and project managers. The Survey Cad Technician collaborates closely with engineers architects and survey teams to ensure that all technical specifications are met and that the final deliverables align with project standards. As such this role demands a comprehensive understanding of surveying principles CAD techniques and relevant regulations. Maintaining accuracy throughout the data collection and design process is crucial as the technician s work directly influences project feasibility safety and compliance with legal and environmental guidelines. In a rapidly evolving landscape the Survey Cad Technician must also remain current with industry trends technology advancements and best practices in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed survey drawings and plans using CAD software.
  • Assist in collecting field data for surveys using various instruments.
  • Review and analyze survey data for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with surveyors and engineers to clarify project requirements.
  • Generate topographic maps boundary surveys and construction layouts.
  • Update and maintain projectrelated files and documentation.
  • Provide support during construction by interpreting survey data.
  • Ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations.
  • Assist in interpreting legal descriptions and easement documents.
  • Utilize GIS technology for spatial analysis and mapping.
  • Conduct quality control on CAD drawings and survey data.
  • Communicate project status and updates to team members.
  • Support the development of project proposals and cost estimates.
  • Participate in field surveys and assist in data collection activities.
  • Stay updated with advancements in surveying techniques and technology.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Surveying Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software preferably AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
  • Experience with surveying instruments such as total stations and GPS.
  • Knowledge of survey principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with GIS applications and mapping techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills for data interpretation.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural and engineering plans.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work output.
  • Solid understanding of local land use regulations and zoning laws.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a surveyrelated role.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to maintaining safety and quality control standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook).
