Job Description
JOB TITLE: School Nutrition Substitute Summer Food Service
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: School Nutrition Manager
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The position is responsible for the packing and distribution of summer food service meals and sanitation of the meal preparation packing and service areas. The position works Monday through Thursday in June and July coinciding with the nutrition summer food service calendar.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally up to 20 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires kneeling reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting grasping feeling and repetitive motions; hearing is required to safely perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for use of measuring devices operation of machines and determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work; the worker is subject to extreme heat/cold noise hazards and atmospheric conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Packages meats breads vegetables fruits milk and other food in accordance with the menu.
- Assists with packaged food distribution.
- Washes pots pans kettles and other cooking utensils.
- Operates dishwasher food sealer and may be trained to operate other food service and mechanical equipment.
- Cleans work surfaces food preparation and service areas.
- Sweepsmops and performs other cleanup duties as assigned.
- Receives and stocks food supplies.
- Maintains sanitary conditions.
- Performs related tasks as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Any combination of education and experience that equals a High School diploma. Some experience in food preparation is preferred but not required. Applicants must be 18 years of age by June 1 2025.
SALARY RANGE: $15.00 $16.00 per hour
