Job Description

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 35 years in benefits/leaves administration including experience with the MA PFML
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in a fastpaced HR department
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Experience navigating state and federal employment laws
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook Teams Excel OneDrive Word SharePoint etc.
  • Proficient in the Human Resources Compensation Management System (HRCMS).
  • Knowledgeable about bargaining unit contracts related to various types of leaves and employee benefits that impact payroll.
  • Must possess a strong customer service orientation along with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of writing concisely clearly expressing thoughts and logically developing ideas.
  • Excellent time management skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment in recognizing when consultation is necessary to complete a task or project.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) four years of fulltime or equivalent parttime professional administrative or managerial experience in business administration business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management program administration program coordination program planning and/or program analysis and (B) of which at least one year must have been in a supervisory capacity or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

Substitutions:

I. A Bachelors degree with a major in business administration business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required (A) experience.*

II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of three years of the required (A) experience.*

III. A Bachelors or higher degree with a major other than in business administration business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.*

*Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.

NOTE: No substitutions will be permitted for the required (B) experience.

EOE Benefits Coordinator

The Executive Office of Education Human Resources team seeks a dynamic engaging experienced Benefits Coordinator to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a background in leading benefits leaves (both FMLA and PFML) ADA requests workers compensation and other related HR projects. This role serves as a primary point of contact for our agencies within the Secretariat. It includes The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) The Department of Higher Education (DHE) the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and the Childrens Trust (CT) as well as the Executive Office of Education (EOE).
