JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for: safely appropriately and judiciously transporting customers from CHI locations to various community facilities.
Pay: $20.20 an hour approx. $42000 annually.
FLSA: Nonexempt. Eligible for overtime.
Schedule: 10am6pm Monday Friday.
Location: Eastchester neighborhood Bronx NY
JOBRELATED DUTIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
These duties are essential and specific to the successful implementation of this position.
- Transports customers to various locations specified on Transportation Request with Agency van.
- Schedules daily routes prioritizing trips to HRA Department of Labor transfers to/from other shelters and housing appointments for customers.
- Maintains van in pristine condition ensuring cleanliness inside and out.
- Monitors and schedules routine maintenance of van (inspections oil changes tire rotation etc.
- Reviews transportation requests with respective Supervisor.
- Maintains accurate documentation of runs logging mileage and destinations.
- Adheres to proper use of company resources (cell phones office supplies vehicles etc..
- Must be able to multitask be flexible and maintain a high level of attention to details. Does not fraternize with customers; maintains a professional boundary.
- Drives within posted speed limits and ensures that all passengers wear required safety belts.
- Does not use cell phone or substances while driving.
Qualifications
What do I need to apply
Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED required. 3 years of experience as a Driver (especially in a social service setting) can override the education requirement.
- Certificates or Licenses: Valid NYS drivers license and clean driving record.
- Communication: Proficiency in English required. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Reasoning Ability: make judgment calls perform proper notifications and make appropriate decisions.
- Other Skills: Ability to relate to the underserved homeless and disabled populations. Work independently or as part of a team be organized assume responsibility work well under pressure be flexible and must be eventempered.
