Job Description

Job Posting Summary

The School of Health and Natural Sciences at Mercy University is seeking passionate dedicated and experienced Anatomy and Physiology instructors to join our adjunct faculty.

This position will be primarily located at the Mercy University Dobbs Ferry campus and the instructor will be responsible for teaching one or more inperson sections of Anatomy and Physiology lab and/or lectures. Adjunct faculty are not eligible for relocation assistance.

Ph.D. in Anatomy and Physiology or a related discipline preferred; M.S. in Anatomy and Physiology or a related discipline required. Candidates with a record of excellent teaching at the undergraduate level are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience teaching Anatomy and Physiology I or II labs and/or lectures to undergraduate students strongly preferred.
  • Commitment to working with a diverse population of undergraduate students
  • Strong interpersonal organizational and communication skills required
  • Strong computer skills required. Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) particularly with BlackBoard as well as teleconferencing software particularly Zoom and BlackBoard Collaborate strongly preferred.
  • Experience teaching online preferred.
Education Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Anatomy and Physiology or a related discipline preferred; M.S. in Anatomy and Physiology or a related discipline required.
This is an opportunity to join the School of Health and Natural Sciences with undergraduate programs in biology clinical laboratory science health science communication disorders exercise science nursing occupational therapy assistant (AAS degree) and veterinary technology as well as 5 accredited graduate health professional programs (communication disorders occupational therapy nursing physical therapy and physician assistant studies).

Salary and rank are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Compensation is based on a semester and calculated on a semimonthly pay cycle.
