CPV Michelin is builder of Molds for Tire production . The CNC Machinist is a technical wage position that plans organizes and operates various types of CNC machines to produce quality machine parts while maximizing production and assuring quality standards.
Qualifications: Associates Degree in Machine Tool/CNC Technology OR 2 to 3 years experience in CNC Machining OR Military Experience in the CNC machining field.
Starting pay: $32.63
Position Responsiblilties:
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Align and secure holding fixtures cutting tools attachments accessories and materials onto machines using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Lifts work pieces to machines manually or with hoists or cranes.
- Selects appropriate tools machines and materials to be used in machine work.
- Remove and replace dull cutting tools.
- Monitor the speed and feed of machines during the machining process.
- Performs first piece inspection to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Completes the Mold Specification Check sheet showing actual dimensions versus specifications.
- Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine as appropriate within capabilities. Reports all machine malfunctions immediately.
- Operates a forklift as required.
- Follow prescribed and standard safety regulations.
- Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Candidate must be willing to rotate shifts
- Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding subtracting multiplication division geometry algebra and trigonometry.
- Must possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints and parts specifications both third and first angle projection.
- Must have working knowledge of metric and standard units and how to convert between the two.
- Must possess the ability to use standard measuring tools e.g. micrometers calipers gauges etc.
- Must have an understanding of Geometric tolerances.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
