The Opportunity
The Department of Computer Science at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applicants for multiple 9month fulltime nontenure earning instructor lecturer or associate lecturer positions with an anticipated start date of December 23 2024. The selected candidates will teach Computer Science and Information Technology courses. This will be a fulltime academic load which consists of 7 courses per academic year. The courses may include various topics in our undergraduate Computer Science and Information Technology programs. We are especially interested in applicants capable of teaching in some of the following areas: cybersecurity networking digital forensics data science and mobile programming data management technologies discrete mathematics computer science theory algorithms and programming at all levels. Other responsibilities include holding office hours conducting required academic performance assessments and development of instructional content for course enhancement.A supplemental summer appointment may be offered.
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned masters degree (for instructor) or doctorate (for lecturer) in Computer Science or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution by the start of the appointment.
For an associate lecturer a doctorate in Computer Science or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution and five years of experience as associate lecturer or equivalent at a fouryear institution are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Collegelevel teaching experience is highly preferred for all ranks.
