About the role
Manage the Unit to effectively deliver Environmental Health Services through the development of active teamwork effective leadership and facilitation to achieve compliance with Councils goals and ensure legislative compliance.
Effectively manage staff including the identification and implementation of staff development performance management and team development needs.
Advise and guide Council on Environmental Health matters.
Advocate to State and Federal Government to improve Environmental Health outcomes in the Wyndham community. Plan to meet the communitys future Environmental Health needs.
What your day will look like
- Manage the daytoday operations of the Environmental Health Unit
- Ensure duties and functions of the Unit are carried out in accordance with the appropriate legislation.
- Ensure all functions are carried out in accordance with Council and Department policies and operating procedures.
- Lead and mentor an energetic and high performing team.
What you will bring
- Degree or Diploma of Applied Science (Environmental Health).
- Welldeveloped management and leadership skills based on successful experience and an understanding of modern approaches to leadership and management.
- Broad local government t knowledge particularly in the delivery of Environmental Health functions.
- Capacity to balance operational financial and strategic management roles.
