About Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital

Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital has proudly served residents across Southeast Michigan since 1953. With 632 beds Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital is a major teaching and research hospital and home to five residency programs and a cardiology fellowship in partnership with Wayne State University School of Medicine. Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital is verified as a Level II trauma center and accredited by the Joint Commission as a primary stroke center. The hospital is also known for clinical excellence and innovation in the fields of orthopedics neurosciences womens health heart and vascular and cancer care.

Scope of Work

Under the supervision of the OTR the COTA implements treatment programs for patients with physical cognitive or psychosocial dysfunction. The individual in this position is required to appropriately interact with all patients regardless of age or culture and to adhere to the Beaumont customer service standards. Documents patient treatment according to all applicable laws rules regulations and professional standards of documentation. Submits charges for services provided. Maintains verbal electronic and written communication with treatment team including supervising OTR for purposes of goal setting active problemsolving treatment and discharge planning. Communicates observations of patients conditions and reactions to treatment.

Qualifications

  • Required Associates Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university occupational therapy assistant program.

  • Familiar with industrial rehab and ergonomics preferred. Preferred

  • CRTOccupational Therapy Assistant Certified (COTA) NBCOT National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy certified or eligible Upon Hire required

  • CRTBasic Life Support (BLS) AHA American Heart Association preferred Or

  • CRTBasic Life Support (BLS) ARC American Red Cross preferred
