Description of the role:
The Shop Dispatcher/Production Manager Role at Route 128 Honda in Reading Massachusetts is a crucial position responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the shop moving customer vehicles through the repair process with technicians ensuring efficiency and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:
- Manage and prioritize work orders assigning repairsto the appropriate technicians.
- Ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance services according to customer expectations and company standards.
- Coordinate with service advisors to provide accurate repair timelines for updating customers.
- Monitor the progress of ongoing repairs ensuring that technicians follow established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Supervise and support the shop team providing guidance training and addressing any performance issues with the management team.
- Maintain accurate records of all service activities including work orders parts orders and technician time cards.
- Collaborate with parts department to ensure availability of necessary materials and supplies.
- Review quality of completed work and address any customer concerns or complaints.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in automotive service operations or a similar role.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to effectively manage a team and prioritize workloads.
- Knowledge of automotive systems service procedures and diagnostic tools.
- Proficient computer skills and experience with shop management software.
- Valid drivers license.
