Position Summary
We have an opportunity for a Family Physician at Ravensview part of Homewood Health the national leader in mental health and addictions treatment in Canada. This position is within our specialized treatment program delivering evidencebased treatments and superior treatment outcomes. This program is delivered onsite at Ravensview in a collaborative manner with a supportive interdisciplinary team which includes nurses dieticians social workers occupational therapists recreational therapists and horticulture therapists. In this role you will be responsible for the clinical care of patients as they engage in their recovery journey.
Homewood Ravensview is a private 75bed inpatient mental health trauma and addiction facility offering evidencebased medically led inpatient services for first responders military veterans executives & professionals adults and young adults. Located in North Saanich on Vancouver Island on 28 acres of forested hillside just minutes from Victoria. What youll be doing:
- Provide medical care for inpatients 25 days per week on a consultant basis (not MRP) for routine physical assessments and addressing general medical concerns. The volume of patients is approx. 12 per hour
- No oncall or afterhours commitment is required
- Collaborate with other physicians nurses and allied health professionals in providing optimal patient care within an interdisciplinary team
- Utilize electronic medical platforms such as Caseworks and BDM (training provided)
- Provide clinical guidance to the program and to the admitting department for appropriate and timely referrals and admissions
- Ensure best practice standards of clinical care are implemented and maintained
- Support colleagues with patient coverage during physician absences
- Complete and submit MSP billings in a timely manner
- Liaison with third party referrers as needed for continuity of care (VAC provincial workers compensation boards employers)
What we are looking for:
- Degree in Medicine and a license in good standing to practice medicine in BC
- Registration with CFPC and CPSBC
- Mental health or addiction medicine experience is valued but not required
- Adept at creating an environment that supports team spirit and collaboration across the organization
- Faculty appointment preferred experience in working with medical students and residents
- Inspire others to be accountable through action decisions and/or communication
- Strong ability to create exceptional relationships with clients patients customers and colleagues
- Strong ability to negotiate and influence with proven critical thinking analysis and complex problemsolving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly developed organizational and timemanagement skills
- Demonstrated commitment to infection prevention and control needs of the hospital

Homewood Health promotes a fair and competitive compensation model. Pay rates are tailored to reflect differences in operating environments and job requirements. Compensation is influenced by many factors including compensation principles or approach for a role or job function organizational tenure experience qualifications or premium skills external competitiveness internal comparability geography and work performance. The pay for this position is $180/hourly paid as a flat daily rate which includes time for charting and no overhead.
