About the role: The Health & Safety Owners Representative will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards on client construction projects. Acting as the liaison between the client and the General Contractor (GC) this role will monitor work activities document noncompliance and collaborate with both teams to resolve any safety issues. The individual will also support the clients safety initiatives assist in the review of safety documents and contribute to the continuous improvement of health and safety practices on site.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the clients Owners Representative for health & safety throughout the construction process.
  • Observe all work activities to ensure compliance with:
    • Applicable federal state and local health and safety regulations.
    • The General Contractors projectspecific health and safety plan.
    • The General Contractors internal health and safety procedures.
    • Clientspecific health & safety requirements when applicable.
  • Document all noncompliant observations using the clients construction management software (Procore).
  • Communicate noncompliances effectively to both the client and the General Contractor (GC).
  • Assist the GC in responding to observations including:
    • Providing clarity and answering any questions from the client or GC teams.
    • Guiding the GC through the resolution process.
    • Explaining the clients expectations for compliance and why a particular observation is considered noncompliant.
    • Supporting the GCs use of Procore for tracking and resolving issues.
    • Confirming alignment with any solution proposed by the GC.
  • Provide monthly reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety as defined by the client.
  • Participate in and support client and GCled safety meetings representing the clients safety expectations.
  • Collaborate with construction managers during monthly safety walks and inspections involving the GC representative.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) coach and resource for client and GC onsite construction managers concerning health and safety.
  • Assist client Construction Managers in reviewing and responding to safety documents submitted by the GC.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 34 years of experience in construction safety required
  • Proven experience in health & safety roles within construction projects.
  • Indepth knowledge of federal state and local health and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with construction management software specifically Procore.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with both internal teams and external contractors.
  • Ability to guide and educate teams on best practices for safety compliance.
  • Detailoriented with strong documentation skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in safety management OSHA 30 CHST
  • Previous experience working as an Owners Representative for health & safety.

The salary for this position can range from $80000 $111000 annually; actual compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to the candidates competencies level of experience education location divisional budget and internal peer compensation comparisons.
